The Blair Dance
Academy is Altoona's fastest growing private dance school. Established in
2002, the Blair Dance Academy offers dance classes for students of all ages.
The curriculum is designed with the student in mind. The Academy offers
classes for students who like to dance as a recreational activity as well as
a more rigorous curriculum for the more serious student. Open six days a
week, the Blair Dance Academy enables you to choose which classes you would
like to take from ballet, tap, jazz, pointe, hip hop, modern, lyrical, acro,
and musical theater. The Academy also has a nationally ranked Competitive
Company that offers several performance opportunities throughout the year.

Lesson Information
The Blair Dance
Academy's dance classes range from half hour lessons to three-hour
rehearsals. All of the classes have a dress code that must be followed in
order to maintain the students focus while in the studio. Class levels are
determined by each dancer's individual ability and commitment, not by age.
Placement tests are given to determine the appropriate level for each dancer
in several different classes. According to level, the instructor selects
the appropriate shoes. All classes perform in the annual recital held in
June.
