Gretchen is originally from Brookville, PA. After receiving her BA in Dance from Slippery Rock University in 2002, Gretchen was a teacher and choreographer with Eastern Cheer and Dance Association, among others. In 2004 she relocated to Pittsburgh to accept a company member position with Laboratory Company Dance (LABCO). Since then, she has become an accomplished teacher and performer in the Pittsburgh dance community. In addition, she has also performed at numerous fund-raisers for various organizations such as the Sprout Fund, Pittsburgh's Gallery Crawl, Southside's Blue Light District and performances at the Kelly-Strayhorn and New Hazlett Theater, both in Pittsburgh. While doing work with The Pillow Project and Pearlann Porter, Greer Reed-Jones (Dance Alloy Theater) approached her to be involved with a new African American dance company, August Wilson Center Dance Ensemble. Gretchen teaches Hip-Hop, Modern, Jazz and Creative Dance to all ages in and around the Pittsburgh area.
